This wage rise effort will initially benefit instructors who have been working in their current job groups for at least three years, as they will be the first group to receive a benefit from it.
The teachers will not only see their salaries go up, but they will also be promoted to the next work group, which will bring with it a variety of other advantages in addition to the rise in wage.
TSC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nancy Macharia gave the educators the reassurance that steps are being taken to ensure that promotions are being fully implemented.
Additionally, a revised salary scale for senior teachers has been published by the TSC.
According to the commission, teachers with a C1 certification will be moved to the C2 job group.
Those educators who are currently in C2 will move up to C3 in the not-too-distant future, while those educators who are currently in C3 will move up to C4.
Every employee will receive a pay increase as well as a promotion in the month of July.
The last salary increase that was promised by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the period of 2017–2021 will be fully implemented in July 2023 for teachers who were hired by the Teachers Service Commission.
These include the following:
- Principals of secondary and primary institutions
- Deputy principals
- Master’s level students
- Secondary School Teachers
- The Principals
- The assistant principals
There are 2,733 open positions for principals of normal primary schools in the United Kingdom.
There are a total of 1,330 unfilled positions for teachers at secondary schools that are eligible for promotions.
There are a total of 1,725 open positions for Deputy Principals II, of which 224 are reserved for Deputy Principals III and an additional 208 are reserved for Senior Master II.
In order for the aforementioned improvements to be put into effect in their entirety, the Treasury will be required to transfer a total of 2.2 billion shillings to the Teachers Service Commission.
In addition to other benefits, instructors who get promotional bonuses receive an increase in their base wage. Dr. Macharia believes that due to the amount of effort that teachers have put in, they should be rewarded with wage raises and promotions.
The Teachers Service Commission has been monitoring the situation and moving rapidly to find solutions to the teacher shortage that the country is experiencing.

how realy can a teacher still in C2,employed year 2012 with a diploma,stagnates in C2,yet she has already acquired degree,yet has good results too,yet an examiner.

We are urguing unfairness and discrimination of those who entered teaching service with a diploma.There is unnecessary punishment to these cohort in terms of promotion.
