TSC Completely Bans The Following 26 Teaching Courses
26 Bachelor of Science and Arts Degree Teaching Courses have just been outlawed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Teachers who have successfully completed these courses and were preparing to apply for TSC registration will now need to find employment elsewhere.
Regardless of having completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/or Enhancement, applicants for registration whose training is in disciplines that are currently NOT on the curriculum do not qualify. The requirements for new instructors’ registration are stated.
“Those who completed a PGDE with these courses are NOT qualified for teacher registration. These courses don’t cover the necessary amount of material, therefore two teaching subjects don’t have the necessary level of content mastery. The instructions go into more detail.
However, the commission emphasises that two teaching specialties and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) are adequate for registration, in addition to a Bachelor’s in Science or the Arts.
The TSC contends that the material covered in these curricula is insufficient, leading to inadequate subject knowledge in the two teaching areas.

TSC will only permit the registration of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science programmes that include a PGDE in two teaching specialties.
