TSC Category Of Teachers Prioritized For Automatic Promotions
The Teachers Service Commission has made it plain which kinds of teachers would receive top consideration for TSC advancements.
All teachers working in an acting role will receive preference for teacher promotions with higher compensation, according to the commission.
The comments were given in front of the parliamentarians by Calvin Anyuor, head of legal services, and Jamleck Muturi, chairman of the TSC board.
They explained that deliberate measures had been taken by the commission to ensure automatic promotion for deputy headteachers who had been serving in an acting capacity for a while. They will be given top consideration when promotions do occur.
When questioned about why certain deputies hadn’t received promotion letters, the commission justified itself by claiming that the deputies in question hadn’t followed the TSC’s guidelines for promotions.
The pair added that teachers in county, extra county, and sub county schools were divided into various categories. These tutors were categorized based on a job evaluation report.

Discussions about these tutors receiving automatic promotions arose. The commission announced that shortly such teachers will receive automatic promotions.
The possibility of a promotion for teachers is currently extremely high because they will be required to participate in some interviews but will receive first preference. Automatic promotions are hampered by job evaluation because they are in various fields.
The commission regretted not receiving monies intended for teacher promotion during the previous ten years, though. Only one payment was made, in July 2017, and it was for a compensation review based on the findings of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission’s job evaluation review.
Teachers exiting service due to natural attrition
According to the commission, a total of 15000 instructors are expected to quit their jobs by December 31 as a result of natural attrition.

The commission agreed to investigate the matter and provide a system for such educators to be automatically promoted rather than having to go through pointless interviews.
