TSC Assigns JSS Teachers a Union
Beginning with the current school year, teachers at Kenya’s Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) are expected to become members of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut).
The Teachers Service Commission recently released a new order about this subject, which led to this development.
According to the Teachers Service Commission, TSC, beginning today, all teachers who are employed by establishments that are categorised as junior secondary schools are required to be members of the KNUT union.
There are whispers going around that the disagreements over working conditions that these instructors were involved in have been resolved.
It is extremely important to keep in mind that KNUT is a union that has traditionally represented teachers working in primary schools.

On the other hand, the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, sometimes known as Kuppet for short, is an additional educational association that represents teachers in secondary schools as well as in other types of settings.
The Knut union will get the same amount of money each month from teachers working in junior secondary schools as it did previously from teachers working in primary schools in the form of dues and a percentage of their base salaries.
A significant portion of the salaries for the teachers who worked in junior secondary schools were distributed in the month of April.
