Final-year students from an accredited institution or community college are required to apply.
A letter of recommendation from the school or institution, academic records for the most recent academic year, a valid student identification card, and a valid MCK student press card for 2023 are all required of the applicant.
On or before July 30, 2023, candidates can apply by submitting all prerequisites through the MCK online portal.
“Students pursuing degrees or diplomas in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Digital Media, or Public Relations who meet the above requirements are eligible to apply,” the announcement said.
The council also said that submissions made by email would not be accepted.
The warning states that “The Media Council of Kenya does not solicit for payments or hire through agents/agencies.”
The course is designed to give journalism students real-world work experience before they graduate and to get them ready for the job market.
