Institutions Approved to Offer Aviation Courses
Tuesday, May 23, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) released a list of 23 schools that are allowed to teach aviation.
In a statement, KCAA listed the different classes that were approved, along with their postal addresses and locations.
There is the East African School of Aviation, Kenya School of Flying, Standards Aviation and Flight Training Centre, KQ Pride Centre, Think Aviation Training, Flitestar Academy, and Mt Kenya Flight School.

There are also Ninety-Nines Flying School, Proactive Air Services, Aerolink Flight Centre Skymax Aviation Ltd, Aerosafe African Consultants, Nairobi Flight Training, Westrift Aviation Ltd, Capital Connect Aviation Supplies, and Pegasus Flyers (EA) Ltd.
KCAA’s list of training included Private Pilots License, Commercial Pilots License, Airline Transport Pilot Licence, Instrumental Rating, Flight Operations and Dispatch, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence, and Flight Instructors Rating.

The institutions are at Wilson Airport, Malindi Airport, Nyaribu Airstrip, Orly Airport, Old Airport Road, KQ Headquarters, and Nanyuki.
Also, the KCAA releases a list of approved training organizations (ATOs) twice a year to keep the aviation industry at a high level of skill.
Institutions Approved to Offer Aviation Courses
A State Safety Programme (SSP) office is part of the KCAA. Its job is to create, implement, and keep improving strategies and processes to make sure that all aviation activities reach the greatest level of safety performance and meet both national and international standards.

The news came a few days after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) gave students the chance to choose and change their classes.
KUCCPS asked candidates to make the changes they needed to make before June 7, 2023.
“I have asked the KUCCPS to open the portal so that students can start applying for courses they want to take in universities and TVETS,” said the Education Cabinet Secretary, adding that all the details were in order.
