List Of Colleges Offering Illegal Degree Courses According To CUE
On June 27, the Commission for University Education (CUE) released a list of 13 institutions that it claimed were providing degree, postgraduate, and certificate programmes without having received permission to do so from CUE.
The public was advised not to enrol at the institutions, according to the notice issued by CUE, which also stated that they lacked the proper authorization to provide certain courses.
The CUE stated that any institution claiming to provide university education in Kenya but which does not included on this list is an illegal entity and is not permitted to operate.
Some of the courses offered by the colleges listed include a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theology, a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology, and a Bachelor of Theology Master of Christian Leadership.
Institutions Listed By CUE include:
- Eldoret Bible College
- Al-Munawarrah College
- Grace Life Bible College
- Africa Theological Seminary
- Regions Beyond Ministry Bible College
- Baraton College
- Africa Talent University

For any updates on all recognised institutions authorised to operate in Kenya, CUE recommended people to visit the commission’s website at cue.or.ke/index.php/status-of-universities.
Emails written to info@cue.or.ke and postal mail addressed to Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Commission for University Education, P.O. Box 54999-00200, should contain information about any suspect institutions.
Additionally, CUE has recommended those interested in degree programmes given by international universities to visit cue.or.ke/index.php/recognition-and-equation-of-qualifications1.
According to the Universities Act 2012 Section 28 (5), anyone who represents that they are offering a degree through an unaccredited institution has committed an offence and is subject to a fine of at least Ksh10 million, a term of imprisonment of at least three years, or both upon conviction.
