List of Colleges offering Degree Courses Illegally ( CUE)
On Tuesday, June 27, the Commission for University Education (CUE) identified 13 institutions that it claims are offering degree, postgraduate, and certificate programmes without its permission to operate.
In a notification, the commission urged the public not to enrol in the institutions, adding that they were not permitted to offer the selected courses.
“Any institution purporting to offer university education in Kenya that does not appear on this list is an illegal entity and is not authorised to operate,” CUE said.
Among the institutions listed are:
- Eldoret Bible College
- Â Al-Munawarrah College
- Â Grace Life Bible College
- Â Africa Theological Seminary
- Regions Beyond Ministry Bible College
- Baraton College
- Africa Talent University
- Breakthrough Bible College
- Theophilus Theological College
- Northwestern Christian University
- Logos University
- Harvest Land Unversity
- Word of Faith Bible College
A Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Theology, a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology, and a Bachelor of Theology Master of Christian Leadership are among the programmes offered by the aforementioned universities.

CUE also included all approved institutions in the country, along with their founding year and accreditation.
CUE recommended persons to visit the commission’s website at cue.or.ke/index.php/status-of-universities for information on all accredited universities licenced to operate in Kenya.

According to Section 28 (5) of the Universities Act 2012, anyone who purports to offer a degree through an unaccredited university commits an offence and is subject to a fine of not less than Ksh10 million, imprisonment for a term of not less than three years, or both.
