KUCCPS Opens Portal for Those applying for Diploma in PTE
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the opening of its online application site, which will allow candidates who meet the requirements to submit applications for available positions in Teacher Training Colleges (TTC).
Candidates who participated in the Kansas Comprehensive Secondary Examination (KCSE) between the years 2020 and 2022 will be able to submit their college applications on or before July 28, 2023.

Students who enrol in the school will be given the option to participate in either the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) or the Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) programmes.

The admission requirements for DPTE as well as DECTE have been modified to reflect these changes.
Candidates should merely maintain an average grade of C (plain) and send KUCCPS a payment of Ksh 1,500 via Mpesa in order to be considered for the position. The condition that some subject cluster grades must have been at least a “plain” C in the past has been removed.
A candidate is now allowed to enrol in a teaching programme as long as they meet the criteria of a mean grade of C (plain), and the prior requirement of five subjects is no longer taken into consideration for placement in TTC.
The KUCCPS website features a list of 35 different teacher education institutions for placement purposes.
Applicants previously had to manually fill out and submit application forms in order to be considered for TTC admissions, which were formerly handled by the ministry at the county headquarters. However, this is the second time that TTC admissions have been handled online through the KUCCPS portal.
Students who are enrolled in TTC, just like their counterparts who are enrolled in TVETs and universities, are also able to get loans from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
