KUCCPS Issues Dates For Second Revision Of Courses
Students who missed their preferred university courses can reconsider their alternatives now that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the launch of the portal on Friday, June 16.
In a statement issued on Thursday, June 15, KUCCPS announced that it will reopen its portal for students who took their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam in 2022 for a second review.
In addition to degree programmes, the placement service said that candidates pursuing diploma and certificate programmes were eligible for a second revision.
“The 2022 KCSE candidates who have not secured a course are invited to log in and apply again,” KUCCPS said in a statement.
The second revision allows a student to choose another course if KUCCPS fails to place them based on their course options from the first revision, with KUCCPS requesting that students apply by Tuesday, June 27.

When students with low cluster points apply for highly competitive courses, this is common.
Students who had qualified for university entrance but had yet to register for undergraduate courses were also given a chance by KUCCPS.
“This is also a chance for those who would like to apply for the first time,” the placement stated.
Unlike prior years, when all KCSE students were able to apply, the government announced through the Ministry of Education that only 2022 KCSE students would be entitled to apply.
Students with a C+ can apply for bachelor degrees, those with a C- and higher can apply for diploma courses, and the rest can apply for certificate and artisan courses.

On Wednesday, June 7, KUCCPS reported that many students had missed out on university spots owing to incorrect application procedures.
In an interview with Kenyans.co.ke, John Olouch, the director of Placement Coordination and Career Development at KUCCPS, stated that students were making required selections but failing to submit them, leaving their courses in the selection basket.
