KUCCPS Has Opened Application Portal For 2024; How to Apply
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially launched the application process for students aspiring to enroll in degree, diploma, and certificate programs at universities and colleges. The application portal, accessible at www.student.kuccps.net, will remain open until February 20, 2024, urging prospective students to apply early for their preferred courses.
To initiate the application, students are required to input their KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and a Password, which is initially set as either the Birth Certificate Number or the KCPE Number used during KCSE Exam Registration. KUCCPS is actively encouraging both the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates and those who completed their form four education between 2000 and 2022 to participate, fostering an inclusive approach to widen opportunities for a diverse range of applicants.
Government scholarships and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loans are available for courses offered at public universities and colleges. However, it’s important to note that students opting for courses in private universities are eligible for HELB loans exclusively.
The KUCCPS application portal covers a spectrum of educational institutions, with 39 public universities eligible for government scholarships and HELB loans, offering a diverse array of educational opportunities. Additionally, there are 237 public colleges providing diploma courses, entitling students to government scholarships and HELB loans upon successful application. These institutions cater to various educational pursuits, ranging from degree programs to artisan courses (level 4 programs).
The programs offered through the KUCCPS portal encompass a wide range of academic achievements, including degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan courses. Notably, degree programs are exclusively reserved for students who attained a grade of C+ and above in their KCSE examinations.
By streamlining the application process and offering financial support options, KUCCPS aims to facilitate the pursuit of higher education for a diverse range of students across Kenya. This proactive approach underscores the pivotal role of education in nurturing talent and driving socio-economic development in the country.
The opening of the KUCCPS application portal signifies a significant opportunity for students to embark on their academic journey, irrespective of their educational background. Through active participation and timely applications, students can explore various educational pathways and secure financial assistance to pursue their chosen courses.
