KUCCPS: Deadline for Course Application Extended
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced an extension of the application deadline to February 26, 2024. This extension is a proactive measure to address challenges faced by parents and stakeholders in accessing the application portal, allowing them more time to submit course applications.
In a statement released on Friday, February 16, KUCCPS reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that all applicants secure placements in higher learning institutions. Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, the CEO of KUCCPS, provided assurance to concerned parents and students, emphasizing that no one would be left behind in the placement process.
Initially, frustration surfaced among parents and students due to system flaws causing delays in application submissions. Issues included encountering messages like “Error: Please wait for the payment to reflect to complete the application” post-payment, hindering the application process. Despite the deadline extension, users stressed the importance of system improvements for more effective application procedures.

Dr. Wahome explained that the system experienced congestion due to a surge in applications, leading to efforts to alleviate traffic on the site. Concurrently, KUCCPS has extended hope to candidates who scored a mean grade E in the 2023 KCSE examinations.
The organization announced several government-sponsored courses across diverse fields, encompassing Business, Building and Construction, Engineering and Technology, Food Science, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Hospitality, Hotel and Tourism, and Clothing, Fashion, and Textiles.
