KUCCPS Clarifies University Cut-Off Points
On May 17, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) made it clear that applicants for university placement for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) would use the 2021 cut-off points.
Following complaints from applicants about the site’s lack of availability of the 2022 cut-off points, KUCCPS provided the clarification.
The placement agency emphasized that as they were ready to announce the new cut-off points, students would use the old cut-off points to guide their applications.
The organization explained, “The 2022 cut-off will be made available following placement; in the meanwhile, the 2021 cut-off will be utilized as a guide for application.
According to a search by Educationnewsarena.co.ke, KUCCPS made the 2021 cut-off points for each university in all of the courses available public.
For instance, the University of Nairobi’s cut-off mark for a law degree was set at 42.348, whereas Kenyatta University’s was 42.036.
Maseno University set a cut-off point of 44.143 for the degree in medicine and surgery for 2021, whereas Egerton University set a cut-off point of 43.749.
For both public and private colleges, there are 20 clusters that contain all of the degree programs.
Visit students.kuccps.net/programmes/ or go into the students portal and choose the programs option to discover the course cutoff dates for 2021.
On the other hand, it was mentioned that while selecting different courses, the students would have access to the calculated cluster points and course expected topic grades.
The message said, in part, “Kindly login to your student portal, your weighted cluster points have already been calculated for you.”
Only those with a minimum grade of C +(plus) will be permitted to apply for degree programs in the universities, according to KUCCPS.
Only 173,345 students managed to earn a grade C+ or higher, according to the 2022 KCSE results.
Ezekiel Machogu, the secretary of the education cabinet, formally launched the KUCCPS application online.
In contrast to earlier apps, the placement agency also introduced additional features, such as the price of courses at various colleges, to the site.
The CS encouraged candidates who received less than a C+ in his address to also apply for openings in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
“Our TVET institutes offer over 500,000 chances, and we are connecting those institutions with those in other nations like Germany and Hungary.
Machogu said, “I have instructed KUCCPS to collaborate with Huduma Centre to guarantee students apply from all regions of the nation.
