KUCCPS courses for A plain and A- (minus). The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has given an update on the application of courses for the 2022 KCSE candidates.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) CEO, Mercy Wahome has indicated that those candidates who scored A plains and A- ( minus) will be given priority during course selection.
“Students who got A plain and A- (minus) can sit for any programme,” Wahome stated
Mercy Wahome further indicated that these candidates can apply literary everything under science and arts depending on their choice.
Those candidates who managed to score C+ ( Plus) and above to B+ (plus) will be confined to cluster points since the A and A- (minus) students will be prioritized.
Since the A (plain) and A- (minus) students will have taken competitive courses, the rest will be locked out of the in-demand courses in relation to their grades.
The CEO, Mercy Wahome mentioned the plans to open the application portal soon which has been long overdue since the KCSE results were released early this year.

She mentioned that all stakeholders will notified via the website and other social handles when the portal will be opened.
The candidates have been encouraged by the CEO to work with their career teachers in choosing course they are passionate about.
Dr. Mercy Wahome made this statement following the previous statement that indicated that only the 2022 candidates will be eligible to apply for the undergraduate courses.
“Only the candidates who sat for their KCSE the year preceding the selection are eligible for the online degree application. You were supposed to apply for a degree programme last year when we opened the portal for applications,” Mercy Wahome mentioned this on March 22nd 2023.
Therefore, all the 2022 candidates have been asked to tone down their anxiety and discard any rumour circulating indicating that the portal has been opened for application and wait for the official announcement from the placement service.
