KUCCPS Adds KMTC Courses on Its Portal; How to Apply
On Saturday, July 22, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) made the announcement that it is now accepting applications for Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) programmes on its platform for the very first time.
To our knowledge, this is the very first time that applications for medical courses have been onboarded onto the KUCCPS systems.
Candidates who are interested in applying can do so until the application window closes on August 4, 2023, and it will be for the September 2023 semester.
“KMTC courses are now available for students to apply for through the KUCCPS portal. On August 4, 2023, the application period for the intake that will occur in September 2023 will end. “Do what you can to get the word out,” stated a portion of the text.
Instructions on How to Apply
- Visit the application portal at students.kuccps.net in order to submit your application for any post.
- Sign in with the student credentials and submit an application for the desired class through the appropriate portal.
There are a variety of courses available, including those leading to certificates and diplomas.
Classes leading to a certificate can be taken in areas such as medical engineering, health information technology and records, orthopaedic trauma medicine, community health, nutrition, and dietetics.
Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography and Imaging, Health Counselling, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Community Health are just few of the Diploma programmes that individuals have the opportunity to enrol in.
The website also includes information on the recently introduced Diploma course in Emergency Medical Technician.
For an applicant to be eligible for a Diploma programme at KMTC, the institution requires them to have obtained a mean grade of C on the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), as well as specified grades in particular subjects.
The prerequisites include earning at least a grade of C in either English or Kiswahili, as well as grades of C and C- in the subjects of Biology and Chemistry. In addition, applicants need to have a grade of at least C- in one of the following subjects: mathematics, physics, or physical sciences.
The specific entry requirements for certificate programmes at KMTC are different depending on the type of programme that is of interest. Candidates pursuing a certificate in Public Health, for instance, are expected to have a mean grade of C- or higher in KCSE in order to be considered. On the other hand, in order to be qualified for the certificate programme in Nutrition and Dietetics, prospective students need to have a mean grade of D+ or higher.
Visit the KMTC website if you are interested in applying for a programme at the college; it will provide you with a wealth of information, including the required grades and course fees.
