KRA Announces Job Opportunities for Graduate Trainees; How to Apply
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has recently announced openings for graduate trainees, aiming to groom them into tax administration experts as part of their Graduate Trainee (GT) Programme. The program’s focus is on university graduates aged 28 years and below, with an emphasis on recruiting individuals of high integrity from recognized universities.
To qualify for these positions, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have obtained a minimum mean grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent, with C+ or higher in English and Mathematics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, are essential requirements.

Additionally, candidates must provide valid certificates of good conduct and copies of documents such as the KRA PIN certificate, National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and identity cards. The application deadline for these positions is Sunday, October 29, 2023.
In an effort to enhance tax compliance, KRA has deployed over 1,400 officers with paramilitary training to the field and markets. These officers have completed a two-month training course and will serve as revenue service assistants, assisting with business registration online and verifying taxpayers’ details.
KRA has set an ambitious goal of collecting KSh 2.7 trillion in tax revenue in the 2023/2024 financial year, following the implementation of the Finance Act 2023, which introduced various new taxes.
