KNEC Reveals 2023 Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 CBA Exam Dates
The Competency-Based Assessments (CBA) for Grades 3, 4, 5, and 7 will take place in October, according to a KNEC announcement.
In a circular issued on Monday, April 17th, KNEC’s Chief Executive Officer, David Njengere, claimed that the assessment materials had already been placed on the CBA portal.
Between June 5 and August 11, third-grade students must complete the Integrated Learning Assessment.
The dates for the English and Maths exams are October 2 and October 26, respectively. Assessment results must be scored and uploaded by schools to the CBA website in order for them to be made available in PDF and other digital forms.
Beginning on July 10, the testing resources will be made available to pupils in grades 4 and 5, and the results must be uploaded by August 11 at the latest.

Students in these grades will take 11 different written topic exams as well as the Special Needs Education (SNE) Foundation level assessment between October 2 and October 26.
The circular emphasises that teachers would evaluate students while they are completing performance-based tasks and grade them in accordance with the rules presented.
If there are evaluation tools that need their use, colour photos should be printed in colour and submitted to the digital platforms available in schools.
Students in grade 7 will be evaluated on their practicals, projects, and performance tasks from July 3 through August 11. This covers a variety of courses, including English, home science, integrated science, health education, physical education, and sports, as well as religious education for Muslims and Hindus.
On October 2, the Council will make the Grade 7 written assessment tools for Maths, English, Kiswahili, Kenyan Sign Language, and Integrated Science accessible.
By October 23, 2023, the results of these written exams must be sent in.
