July Mass Recruitment updates
In order to hire 20,000 intern instructors for the fiscal year 2023–2024, which starts in July, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has presented revised plans.
All Teachers will be eligible for the TSC July recruitment, according to TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia, who spoke before the National Assembly’s Committee on Education and Research.
Dr. Macharia claims that these teachers should support our public schools in addressing their teacher shortage issues while also ensuring that every student obtains a top-notch education.
According to Macharia, the decision by TSC to hire interns independently will have a number of cascading effects on the educational system.
In addition to improving educational levels, the programme will boost the living standards of many households nationally.

A comprehensive medical plan for teachers and their dependents is also being implemented by the commission, according to Dr. Macharia.
More than a million people nationally are currently enrolled in the current medical programme, claims Macharia.
This has helped the Manifesto’s objective of giving all Teachers greater access to high-quality healthcare come true.
Raising staff morale and satisfaction is the commission’s main goal.
All teachers receive promotions as they progress in their careers, which helps to accomplish the goal.
The long-term work stability of certain teachers, according to Macharia, led to low productivity and demotivation.
The committee took notice of how the circumstance impacts student learning in classrooms.
To complete the nationwide promotion of teachers into various job cadres, TSC will need Sh2.2 billion.
The commission requires Sh2.1 billion, Macharia continued, to pay for teacher professional development.
