Grade 3 KNEC National Assessment 2023 Guidelines
The national Competency Based Assessments (CBA) for third-grade pupils in Kenya were released by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) in 2023. According to the testing company, both public and private schools can use the online resources. The exam administration may also start whenever it wants in the future.
The testing company has set a deadline for the delivery and evaluation of the examinations. By no later than August 11, 2023, the results shall have been made available online through the CBA platform.
In a previous circular distributed on April 17, 2023, the Kenya National Examination Council directed all school heads to visit the assessment portal and log in to the CBA portal at https://cba.knec.ac.ke.

The officials also suggested that schools who were having issues with the password issue seek assistance. Since they can help with password resets, the area sub county director of education should be approached for assistance.
Currently, third-graders will take a special kind of national exam. The test will be known as the Kenya Early Years Assessment (KEYA). On the other hand, children with disabilities or special needs will take the Kenya Foundation Level Education Assessment (KFLEA).
Integrated Learning Areas (ILA) will be considered in this sort of evaluation, as planned. All of the disciplines that these students learn will now be combined for this sort of evaluation, which will be offered verbally and through practicals.
As per the previously announced schedule, these students will now sit the written exams in the month of October 2023. During this time, they will take and pass two exams: English activities and mathematics. The headteachers are required by the Kenya National Examinations Council to maintain all documentation and supporting materials resulting from the continuing assessments.
Additionally, the neighbourhood schools should supply all of the assessment-related materials. It will be necessary to improvise for other supplies.
Exams for grades 4,5, and 7 will be offered starting in July 2023, according to KNEC.
