Field Officers to be briefed on exam administration from October 2
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has made substantial strides in preparing for the upcoming national examinations. They’ve arranged a series of briefings and awareness sessions for Field Officers who will have a pivotal role in overseeing and managing these exams.
A memo, dated September 9, 2023, and signed by Belio Kipsang’, the Principal Secretary (PS) for Basic Education, has detailed the particulars of these meetings, slated to occur from October 2 to 6, 2023. Sub County Directors of Education (SCDEs) have been entrusted with the responsibility of selecting venues for these briefings.
Additionally, SCDEs will be in charge of extending invitations to key individuals involved in the examination process. This list encompasses Sub-County Examination Officers, Examination Officers in charge of the Containers, Deputy County Commissioners, Assistant County Commissioners (where applicable), KCPE, KPSEA, and KCSE Centre Managers, as well as KPSEA, KCSE, and KCPE Supervisors. Moreover, Sub County Police Commanders (SCPC), Security officers overseeing the Critical Infrastructure Protective Unit (CIPU), and TSC Sub County Directors will also partake in these significant briefings.

Concerning the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations, the rehearsal date is set for Friday, October 27, 2023, with the actual exams scheduled from October 30 to November 1, 2023.
In contrast, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) rehearsals are arranged for Thursday, October 19, 2023, and the exams will conclude on Friday, November 24, 2023, concluding with the Physics practical paper. These preparations underscore the dedication to ensuring the orderly and efficient execution of these crucial national examinations.
