ECDE teachers decry six-month salary delay
Teachers of Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) in the county of Nyamira have voiced their concern over the delay in receiving their salary.
The educators complained to our team that they have not been paid for the past six months, despite the fact that their employment contracts would expire in December.

One of the instructors remarked that they would “love to have the money for us to even start selling vegetables” if they had it.
According to Jane Ong’era, who was hired in March on permanent and pensionable conditions, they have received their April salary, but their March salaries have been withheld.

She bemoaned the fact that they have been pleading for assistance from a variety of offices, but that their efforts have not produced any positive results.
The worried teachers have now made an appeal to the governor, Amos Nyaribo, to step in and help them with their financial issues so that they can find a solution.

Their concerns are being heard at a time when the governor is in the midst of purging the workforce of ghost employees.
