Micro Finance Manager
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop strategy & road map for improving the financial performance of the Microfinance department
- Manage the Micro-finance department Portfolio (Deposit & Credit)
- Conduct Research and Development
- Drive the department team to ensure that customers’ needs are met
- Build long-lasting relationships with the group members
- Create a culture of high performance among staff within the department
- Ensure that the department’s procedures are followed to mitigate risks.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

- A minimum of 5 years experience in micro-credit in a busy financial institution (three years must be at supervisory or management level)

Micro Finance Officer
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Market Micro-credit products and services to the target clients and maintain the image of Micro-Credit activities under the guidance of the Micro Finance Manager
- Deposit Mobilization
- Maintain good relationship with groups and frequent visit
- Disbursement and processing of loans
- Maintain quality portfolio by closely monitoring repayment of loans from customers and ensuring prompt follow-ups
- Recruiting clients, groups and business appraisal
- To identify and locate prospective micro-credit clients
- To plan periodic visits to identifiable clients
- Prepare Micro-Credit loan applications for approval

Credit Officer
Tasks and Responsibilities Â
- Ensure strict adherence to loan policies/guidelines for the issuance of quality loans
- Ensure member’s eligibility for loaning including the ability to repay and securities
- Ensure members are advised appropriately based on their loan appraisal status/position
- Ensure that all loans issued are effectively guaranteed
- Ensure timely loan appraisals within set time limits and communicate feedback to members within acceptable timelines
- Ensure a timely and effective loan approval process within set limits, by presenting appraised loans for approval and approving the same in the system.
- Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of approved loans
- Ensure all loan forms processed, rejected, and deferred are kept safely and in member files
- Monitor all collaterals used for loans and ensure they are adequate and well updated
- Ensure effective communication and advice to members on loan matters/queries
- Ensure that new & continuing members’ deductions on savings, share capital and any other statutory deductions are accurate and timely
- Ensure all employer remittances/payments to the Sacco in lieu of Sacco loan payments are received and forwarded to Finance for settlement
- Ensure that all default notices and guarantor notices are issued in a timely manner
- Ensure guarantor/collaterals substitutions are done accurately and in a timely manner

Tasks and Responsibilities Â
- Developing internal audit, risk and compliance strategies and manuals detailing the procedures and best practices
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing the internal audit charter
- Developing comprehensive audit programs and audit plans to cover all the activities and programs
- Test the institution’s disaster recovery and incidents management programs and advice the management on areas of improvement
- Conducting timely risk-based internal audits and advising the board of directors on all audit matters
- Assessing the reliability and integrity of financial, operating procedures and compliance with set policies
- Economic efficiency and effectiveness in utilization of the Sacco’s resources
- Providing practical solutions to improve overall efficiencies and enhance internal controls
- Monitoring the level of compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, processes, and procedures
- Conducting investigation on suspected internal fraud and corruption
- Proactively keeping the board of directors and management aware of emerging trends regarding internal controls, risk management, governance and internal auditing

- Five (5) years of working experience in a finance function with a minimum 3 years of auditing experience in a senior position in a Deposit Taking Sacco

Tasks and Responsibilities Â
- Manage operational activities at the branch including resourcefulness of the staff.
- Reconciliations of FOSA bank accounts together with banker’s cheque and control accounts.

- Ensure processing of internal and external standing orders is properly done
- Verify the accuracy of the treasury cash movement throughout the Sacco

- Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing internal audit strategies, policies, and manuals detailing the audit procedures
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing the internal audit charter
- Assist in developing an internal audit work plan and budget for each financial year
- Participate in preparation of the periodic audit reports for presentation to the senior management and the Audit Committee of the Board.
- Check the accuracy and reliability of accounting records by analyzing systems and internal controls
- Verifying cash transactions carried out to ensure they are duly authorized and well documented
- Carry out surprise cash count and other treasury cash management checks.
- Continuously identify idle assets and make recommendations
- Regularly review and report on completeness and accuracy of the Sacco data
- Follow up on the implementation of previous audit recommendations
- Assist in the execution of the Sacco compliance, fraud, and risk assessments by identifying the key risks and assessing mitigating controls to determine the risk profile for the Sacco

- Review the SACCO’s operations to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements set under the SASRA guidelines.
