Cardinal Principal Awarded for Epic Performance in KCSE Exams
Mr. Albert Ombiro, the Chief Principal of Cardinal Otunga High School in Kisii County, expressed his appreciation towards the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for recognizing the school’s outstanding performance in the 2022 KCSE exams. In the previous year’s examinations, the school secured the second position nationwide, attaining a mean score of 10.76, with all students gaining direct admission to universities.
During a press briefing held in Kisii town, Ombiro conveyed his gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon the school during the World Teachers Day Celebrations in Nairobi. He specifically thanked the teachers’ employer for taking the lead in this recognition effort.
He took pride in the Commission for its role in acknowledging achievements across various domains, including academics, sports, music, drama, and athletics, among others.
Additionally, the Principal extended his appreciation to the teachers, students, parents, Board of Management, and the Catholic Church, the primary sponsors of the school. He acknowledged their significant contributions to the remarkable performance and emphasized that this award would serve as an inspiration for both students and the entire school community to strive for even greater accomplishments.

Furthermore, Mr. Ombiro highlighted the school’s active participation in various co-curricular activities such as rugby, music, soccer, volleyball, and hockey at the county, regional, and national levels.
TSC also honored other principals from secondary schools that excelled in the previous year’s national exams, including Mr. Charles Onyari, the principal of Nyambaria Boys, who emerged as the top school head nationally, Ms. Linet Sati from Asumbi Girls, Mr. John Kuria from Mang’u High School, and Mr. Simon Masibo from St Antony’s Boys School in Trans Nzoia.
